An overwhelming presence of German industry, research institutes, policymakers, investors, and regulators came together as the Bundesministerium für Forschung, Technologie und Raumfahrt outlined Germany’s high-tech agenda and funding priorities for the coming years.
The timing could not have been better. During the forum, KFT Konzepte CEO Clemens Kuehner shared what is needed to accelerate fusion development: bringing the right stakeholders together and aligning them through clear, viable mid-term financial incentives.
In his presentation, he highlighted the unique opportunity of the fusion validation facility VNS next — not only as a necessary step to address key technology challenges in integrated fusion systems on the path to fusion energy, but also as a dual-use platform capable of producing an unmatched amount of medical radioisotopes, directly supporting cancer diagnostics and treatment.
We see strong interest across industry, research, and the public sector — and welcome exchange with partners interested in shaping this public–private partnership approach.
A big thanks to FILO – Fusion Industrial Liaison Office Germany for organizing the forum, and to the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics for hosting.
Let’s build on this momentum — creating real value today while accelerating the path to fusion energy in Germany and Europe.
